I paint and draw to challenge myself to achieve the impossible.  Being a long-standing member  of the 'I-can't-draw-a-straight-line' crowd, I am always amazed when simple lines, shapes and shades actually create a desired image of a person, place or thing.

I feel like a conquerer when I beat my 'no-can-do' demons down.  They haunt me so convincingly and repetitiously every time I try to begin a work of art.

However, I inevitably escape into a zone of quiet beauty within myself that is peaceful with new ideas floating in and out.

Sometimes I catch a few and they filter through my heart as my pencil or brush ushers them forth.
